Gakuran Perks Guide (2026)
There is no standalone perk menu — but your character stacks passive bonuses from several systems. Here is where every "perk" comes from.

Quick Answer
Your passive "perks" = Clan buffs + Fighting Style traits + Accessory effects + Ethnicity height. Clan and style roll independently, so you can stack strong ones. Track balance changes in our patch notes.
Every Perk Source
Last Name (Clan)
Passive combat multipliers like +Damage, +Attack Speed, +Stamina. The biggest single perk source.
Last Names & Clans →Fighting Style
Each style carries innate passive traits (speed, range, stamina economy). Part of your moveset identity.
Fighting Styles Tier List →Accessories & Items
Cosmetic gear can include small passive flavor effects depending on the item. Verify per item.
Items & Accessories →Ethnicity (Height)
Determines hitbox and reach — a quiet "perk" that shapes every engagement without stat multipliers.
Ethnicity Guide →How to Maximize Your Perks
- Roll a Rare/Supreme clan (free codes first) for the biggest multiplier.
- Pick a fighting style whose passive traits fit your height and clan.
- Choose accessories that complement your look without hiding key cues.
- Set ethnicity for the hitbox you want to play around.
What Each Perk Source Actually Changes
The reason "perks" in Gakuran feel confusing is that the four sources do not affect the same part of a fight. Once you know which lever each one pulls, building a character stops being guesswork.
| Source | Mainly affects | Can you change it later? | Cost to chase |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last name (clan) | Damage and attack-speed multipliers | Yes, by reroll | Reroll spins — the most expensive lever |
| Fighting style | Tools: Guard Pierce, Resilience, specials | Yes, by style reroll | Reroll spins, usually cheaper than a good clan |
| Accessories | Small item-specific effects, often visual | Yes, freely swap items | Accessory rolls or trades |
| Ethnicity (height) | Reach, hitbox and swing feel | Only by remaking the character | Highest cost — it is a permanent choice |
The rule that follows from this table: decide the permanent lever first (your body), then the two reversible ones you will actually keep (style and clan), and treat accessories as decoration. Players who reverse that order spend rerolls on a clan that does not suit the body they are stuck with.
What Does Not Stack, and Why
Because clan, style and ethnicity are chosen independently, you always end up stacking all three — there is no menu where one cancels the other. What does not stack is anything drawn from the same source:
- Two clan buffs. You have one last name, so you get one clan multiplier, full stop.
- Two style passives. Swapping styles replaces the old trait rather than adding to it.
- Two accessories of the same slot. You wear one head accessory, so the second best head item cannot contribute.
This is why a "stack everything" build is not a thing: your ceiling comes from the quality of the best item in each slot, not from the number of items you own. If a video promises a build that stacks four clan buffs at once, it is describing something the systems do not allow — check your own stat readout before you spend anything.
Common Mistakes When Building for Perks
- Chasing a rare clan before choosing a style. The clan multiplies what your style already does. A strong multiplier on a toolset you cannot use produces a worse character than a modest clan on a style you have mastered.
- Ignoring Guard Pierce and Resilience. These two values decide close exchanges, yet they are the stats players skip because they do not appear on the character sheet as numbers. Our tier list lists them per style.
- Treating accessory effects as combat stats. Most are flavour or utility. Do not pass over a clan reroll to chase an accessory you believe carries a hidden multiplier.
- Spending Robux on rerolls before exhausting codes. Free spins from active codes exist precisely so the hunt does not have to cost money.
