Unreleased Preview — Not Yet in Game

Taekwondo is listed on the official Gakuran Trello as a work-in-progress fighting style. It is not obtainable yet. All details below come from the official Trello card and may change before release. We will update this page with full combos, perks, and a Best Build once it launches.

Quick Answer

Taekwondo is an unreleased (WIP) Gakuran fighting style described on the official Trello as a dash-heavy hit-and-run style. Its signature perk is Quickstep: landing a hit within 1 second after an evasive dash cuts the remaining dash cooldown by 50%. It also has powerful ragdoll M2s and Guard Pierce III (20% block chip), with a Medium best height. Early community tier lists project it around A-Tier, but that is speculative until release.

What We Know From the Official Trello

Quickstep (Dash Synergy)

Landing a hit within 1 second after an evasive dash cuts the remaining dash cooldown by 50%. Enables rapid hit-and-run loops.

Guard Pierce III

20% block chip damage — solid pressure through blocks for an unreleased style.

Ragdoll M2s

Powerful ragdoll M2s give Taekwondo strong knockback and combo potential on a dash-in.

Last checked 11 September 2026 — still unreleased. The check covered the card's WIP status, community trackers published after the 8 September update (which still list Taekwondo alongside the unreleased styles), and creator coverage from the previous 30 days, which contains no Taekwondo gameplay.

Projected Role (Speculative)

  • Best Height: Medium (per Trello).
  • Playstyle: Dash-heavy hit-and-run — Quickstep rewards aggressive, mobile play.
  • Community Projection: Early tier lists place it around A-Tier, but this is unconfirmed until launch.

Why This Is a Preview, Not a Guide

A released style page on this site contains tested combos, matchup notes and a build recommendation. Taekwondo has none of those yet, and pretending otherwise would be inventing content. What exists today is a design intention written by the developers, so this page is scoped to exactly that: what the card says, what it implies for the style's role, and what cannot be known until it ships.

The gap between design notes and a live style is usually larger than players expect. Values get tuned during balancing, a perk that reads powerfully on paper can be weak in practice once cooldowns and animation commitments are involved, and some cards are reworked or shelved entirely before release. That is why we will not publish a "best build" for Taekwondo ahead of launch.

ControlRagdoll M2sCommon to several released styles, so on its own it does not set Taekwondo apart

Read together, the card describes a hit-and-run style whose identity depends on Quickstep actually being as strong in practice as it reads. That is the one thing no preview can confirm, and it is the reason we will re-test on launch day rather than carry these projections forward.

What to Do Until Taekwondo Launches

  • Do not save rerolls for it. A style that cannot be rolled cannot reward patience. Spins held back are spins not improving the character you are playing today.
  • Practice the playstyle it describes. Dash-heavy hit-and-run already exists through mobility-oriented styles, so the habits transfer. If that rhythm suits you, you will be ready on day one.
  • Treat clips sceptically. "New style gameplay" videos circulating before a release are usually edited, private-server experiments or a different style with a modded look. The reliable confirmation is the style appearing in your own reroll list.
  • Follow the patch notes instead of projections. Launch timing and final values appear there first — see the patch notes.
  • Check the board yourself if you want the raw source. The Trello guide explains how to read which column a card sits in.

This preview is re-checked on a fixed review cycle. If the card still says WIP at the next check, the verification date is rolled forward; if the style ships or is dropped, this page is rewritten to match.
